COFFERDAM

DESIGN/INSTALLATION

Cofferdams are temporary structures constructed to control and divert water away from construction operations so that work can be completed in dry conditions.  Even more importantly, cofferdams protect the integrity of existing control structures (such as dams and levees) and the safety of our crews.

Many factors drive the type of cofferdam required such as soil and geological conditions, drainage area, flow data, storm events, ice and overall height.  The size, shape and type of cofferdams required is a major component of our project evaluation as it relates to risk and constructability.  Not only is the installation often challenging, dewatering the work zone can be just as much work.  It is crucial to develop an efficient dewatering plan in conjunction with the diversion structures creating a safe and efficient work area.

KC has experience developing and installing all kinds of cofferdam diversion and dewatering systems for a multitude of applications.  It is important to note that the costs can vary greatly depending on the conditions and type of systems required.  Choosing the correct system can literally make or break a project.  KC has the expertise, creativity and qualifications to develop a custom solution for each job maximizing safety, efficiency and cost.
