LEVEE CONSTRUCTION AND FLOOD PROTECTION

These are complex civil works projects built to manage and control flood water movement in an effort to protect residential communities, businesses and vital infrastructure. These systems can drastically alleviate damage caused by major storm events, old or damaged stormwater conveyance systems, overdevelopment and other anomalies.   Systems can be constructed to protect both long-term and short-term circumstances.  Typically, these projects will involve a combination of levees, embankments, walls and gates.

Because these systems are most often found adjacent to waterways, temporary structures are often employed during the construction process (similar to those used in Dam construction – cofferdams, sheet piles, support of excavation systems, dewatering systems, etc.) to maintain the integrity of surrounding infrastructure and natural elements.  KC has vast experience and knowledge working around water – we consider our teams to be expert installers capable of installing critical flood protection infrastructure.
